The Red Lion Is Greenwich Village's Home for Premier League in NYC
The Red Lion has been Greenwich Village's Premier League bar since Brentford's first ever top flight season kicked off here in 2021, and the new season starts the same way it always has, doors open early and every screen in the room tuned to kickoff. Founded in 1984, this pub was showing English football on Bleecker Street long before Premier League NYC became a search term at all.
We are the official New York City home of Brentford FC, one of only a handful of dedicated club supporter bars in Manhattan, and Brentford open their season at home to Tottenham on Saturday, August 22.
Premier League Kickoff Times in New York
Every Premier League kickoff lands on the New York clock five hours behind London during the early part of the season, which is why the biggest games of the weekend often kick off before most of the city has had breakfast. A Saturday game set for half past twelve in the UK starts at 7:30am here. A Sunday afternoon fixture at two o'clock UK time is a 9am kickoff on Bleecker Street. We built our doors around that gap, not the other way around.
Opening Weekend Schedule
Matchweek 1 runs across four days. Times below are New York time.

Kickoff times move for television throughout the season, particularly once European competition and the FA Cup start affecting the calendar. We confirm the day's exact schedule at the bar and post updates on our own channels closer to each weekend.
Where to Watch Premier League in Greenwich Village
Walk in any Saturday morning and you will find early kickoffs already drawing a crowd of regulars who know each other by name and visitors who found us searching for a place to watch their club play three thousand miles from home. Every screen in the room is tuned to Premier League coverage on match mornings, sound up on the featured game, and the kitchen opens alongside the first kickoff of the day.
There is no membership and no supporters club card required. Walk in, find a seat, and the match will already be on.
Brentford FC's Official Home in New York City
The Bees' first ever Premier League match in 2021 is the reason this room has a supporters community at all. Three people watched that match together at The Red Lion, and what started as a handful of regulars has grown into a group of twenty to thirty Brentford fans who gather here for nearly every fixture, home and away. We are listed as Brentford FC's officially recognised New York City home on the club's own website, and it remains the only dedicated Brentford supporters bar in the city.
A Room That Knows How to Handle a Big Match
This past summer gave a preview of what a full house looks like here. The Red Lion spent the World Cup on match mornings just like this one, with the screens full and the doors open well before most of the city was awake, and a room of strangers who turned into regulars over the course of the tournament. The Mirror and Eater both named the bar among the city's places to watch the World Cup. The setup that handled those crowds is the same one carrying into the Premier League season.
Location and Transit
The Red Lion sits at 151 Bleecker Street between Thompson and Sullivan, in the heart of Greenwich Village. The West 4th Street to Washington Square subway station is a short walk away and is served by the A, C, E, B, D, F, and M trains, putting the bar within easy reach of Midtown and Brooklyn, plus most of Lower Manhattan, on a Saturday morning before kickoff.
Plan Your Visit

Our Sister Venues
If Midtown or a trip to MetLife Stadium fits your day better than the Village, our sister pub Tara Mór sits two minutes from Penn Station on West 30th Street. For Murray Hill, Tara Rose has its own bar and an underground speakeasy with no hire fee for private groups. On the Upper West Side, The Ellington on Broadway is a short walk from Riverside Park, and its sister spot Ellington in the Park serves the riverside crowd through the season while the weather holds.
