Halloween Parade Night on Bleecker Street | The Red Lion
October 12, 2026 04:30 AM until November 01, 2026 08:30 AM
Bleecker Street meets the Village Halloween Parade at Sixth Avenue, three short blocks west of The Red Lion. This year the parade falls on Saturday, October 31, and the stretch of Sixth Avenue from Bleecker up to 14th Street is usually the first part of the route to fill. We have been at 151 Bleecker Street in Greenwich Village since 1984, and with Halloween on a Saturday, our doors open at 10am and the bands play until 4am.
The parade this year
The 53rd Village Halloween Parade steps off at 7pm at Canal Street and heads north on Sixth Avenue to 15th Street. This year's theme is Body and Soul. Watching is free, and anyone in costume can march for free by joining the lineup at Canal Street and Sixth Avenue between 6:30pm and 9pm.
Where to stand
Spectators line Sixth Avenue from King Street up to West 15th Street. The corner of Bleecker and Sixth fills early, so the blocks further south give more room. With marchers joining until 9pm, the parade takes hours to pass any one corner, which leaves time to come back to Bleecker Street for food before heading out again.

From 7pm the stage has three bands through the night, mostly classic rock and blues covers played by New York musicians. As on every Saturday night, a cover charge applies in the evening. The band room is walk in, and groups of six or more can book a table ahead through Resy. The lineup for the night goes up on our live music page.
The Red Lion is the official New York home of Brentford FC, and the Bees host Nottingham Forest at 11am New York time on Halloween. The NYC Bees watch every match with us, and the rest of the season is on our Premier League in NYC page.
Getting here on parade night
West 4th Street Washington Square station sits on Sixth Avenue beside the parade and gets very busy from late afternoon. Coming from the east is simpler: Broadway Lafayette on the B, D, F and M and the Bleecker Street station on the 6 are both about a ten minute walk along Bleecker Street to our door. From the West Village side, crossing Sixth Avenue gets slower once the parade is moving, so arriving before 7pm saves a wait.

Halloween at our sister bars
The Red Lion is one of five bars in our group around Manhattan. Tara Mór on West 30th Street is a two minute walk from Penn Station, an easy first stop for anyone coming in by train. Tara Rose on Third Avenue in Murray Hill has an underground speakeasy with no hire fee, a good fit for a private costume party. Uptown, The Ellington at 2745 Broadway covers the Upper West Side, and Ellington in the Park sits beside the Hudson in Riverside Park. Wherever the night starts, Bleecker Street is a short walk from the parade.
