We have live bands on stage seven nights a week. Doors open at 7:00 PM and music runs until 4:00 AM. There is never a cover charge to see live music at The Red Lion — just show up, grab a pint, and let the night take care of itself.

For over 40 years, The Red Lion has been the heartbeat of live music on Bleecker Street. Every single night of the week, our stage hosts the city's finest musicians — from gritty Chicago blues and classic rock to soul, funk and high-energy covers that keep the room moving until 4:00 AM. We are not a background music bar. When the band is on at The Red Lion, you know about it.
Located steps from Washington Square Park in the heart of Greenwich Village, we are the authentic alternative to the tourist traps on the rest of the strip. Our regulars are musicians, music lovers, NYU students, British expats and New Yorkers who know that the best live music in NYC does not come with a cover charge or a dress code.
Happy Hour + Live Music
Monday through Friday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM we run Bleecker Street's best happy hour Red Lion draft beer, mixed well drinks, house wine, and Red Lion Mule or Margarita. By the time happy hour ends, the band is warming up. There is no better transition in New York City nightlife.

Walk-ins are always welcome — we do not require reservations for live music nights. However if you are coming with a group of 6 or more, we recommend booking a table in advance to guarantee your spot in front of the stage.
