Celebrating its 25th historic year on Bleecker Street, the world famous Red Lion is still the destination location for New York City music royalty and tomorrows next big thing.
Born in the Summer of Love, built on 80s rock nested comfortably along side a multitude of other legendary night clubs such as the Village Gate, the Bottom Line, CBGBs and Wetlands the Red Lion has navigated its way into 21st Century as one of the last true music venues.
On any given night, at any given hour you will find our most beloved stage showcasing the true-blue heart of Rock & Roll. Live music 7 nights a week, performed nonstop from 7pm till 4am. Three acts will take the stage and perform where the likes of Gavin Degraw, Joss Stone, Dana Fuchs (Love, Janis, Across the Universe), Republic of Loose, Cyndi Lauper, John Mayer, John Popper (Blues Traveler), Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers), Loudest Whisper, Mundy, Luka Bloom, Shawn Mullins, Joannie Madden & Eileen Iver (Riverdance) and Kasabian just to mention a few have once performed.
Now thats the Red Lion story in the wee hours of a New York City night. But its in the legit daylight hours of week where the Red Lion really gets its landmark status.
This is where when the season commences, the Red Lion becomes an almost a 24 hour operation. With only a hot minute between the small hours of 4am and the early morning time On any given Sunday (or Saturday) opening its doors at kick off The Red Lion is transformed into the Home of European Sports: Soccer, Rugby, Cricket you name it.
